Enslaved Made Namco's Sales Worse

Namco's sales numbers racket this year haven't been great thus far, only with Enslaved's underperformance, information technology looks the like the publisher will mislay even more money.

Namco Bandai has revealed, via its fiscal composition for the next-to-last six months ending in September, that 2010 hasn't been abominably kind to the company. Overall, the company recorded a total income of ¥173.5 billion ($2.13 billion), but it calm down sported a net red ink of 1.93 zillion ($23.8 million). While that may sound pretty bad, information technology's a far sight better than the ¥6.04 billion ($74.4 trillion) loss Namco sported live on year. Notwithstandin, it doesn't sound like things are improving much for the publisher, either, since information technology recently revealed that several of its games, including the critically-lauded Slave: Odyssey to the Westmost didn't sell nearly likewise as the company hoped.

Here's how Namco Bandai originally though the games would sell:

Nonliving to Rights Retribution: 700,000 units
Collide of the Titans: 700,000 units
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West: 1,000,000 units
Majin and the Forsaken Realm: 1,000,000 units
Splatterhouse: 1,000,000 units
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2: 700,000 units
Ben 10 Ultimate Alien Large Destruction: 700,000 units

Here's how it in reality worked out: Dead to Rights touched 350,000 units, Clash of the Titans only sold 250,000 copies (because information technology was, you know, horrible), and Enslaved oversubscribed 800,000 units. However, Naruto sold 1,000,000 units and Ben 10 oversubscribed 800,000.

Atomic number 3 a result, Namco has pretty drastically reduced its gross sales expectation for its upcoming big-budget titles. Spatterhouse is now only if foreseen to turn 350,00 copies, spell it's believed that Majin and the Forsaken Realm sell only 300,000 units. Those are some beautiful drastic forecast reductions; I supposition we'll have to expect and see how the sales in reality work out.
